It’s almost oceanfront with about a 30 second walk to sea wall next to shoreline and about 60 seconds to the pool area. It’s so close you can hear and see the ocean and it’s less than 1/2 mile to the best snorkeling beach in Kona. E Komo Mai! (Welcome!) Are you dreaming of your Hawaiian vacation? Everything you'll need to enjoy your vacation is in the unit and well-maintained for your comfort. And, when you finally decide to rest your eyes you'll do so with the sounds of surf to gently soothe you to sleep. Did we mention that the pool is only 60 feet away from the unit? All you have to do is walk around the sacred heiau which is our 'backyard' and there's the pool. Or, you can just as easily walk less than 60 feet to the shoreline. If you're a regular tennis player or even just experimenting we have 3 lighted PREMIER surface courts and they're FREE for our guests. If you want private or group lessons from our designated complex tennis professional, that’s also easy to do! And, yes, we have a couple of tennis racquets for our guests as well. More about our complex - Located on world-famous Ali'i Drive the Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club is a four star, gated complex just three minutes drive from groceries, shops, theater, and one of the most popular snorkeling beaches in Hawaii - Kahaluu State Park (also known as Turtle Beach). Additionally, the Kona Country Club golf course is located immediately next to the Surf and Racquet Club. There's even a FREE shuttle to get to and from town or the nearby shopping center - this shuttle stops about 400 yards from our entry gate. It’s called the Honu Express! More about the unit - This unit sleeps four. The master bedroom includes a king bed, stand-a-lone air conditioning unit, dresser, desk, TV, DVD player, clock radio, phone, ocean views, ceiling and pedestal fan AND a walk in closet. The second bedroom includes twin beds, stand-a-lone air conditioning unit, dresser, large closet, ceiling and pedestal fan and slight ocean view. Really, come let the waves lull you to sleep at night - it's wonderful. The unit was completely remodeled in 2006 with brand new everything: furniture, appliances and other amenities. And it had brand new beautiful new white tile flooring and fresh paint throughout. (It’s continued to be maintained by new owner and local contact to perfection!) Beach Supplies - We have beach towels, chairs, boogie, cooler and even toys for the kids - just ask when you make reservation. The location of condo and subsequent remodel was done with both our guests and our personal visits in mind. We wanted a place that we would LOVE on our return every year and it had to be in a GREAT location. We also made sure that it was furnished and decorated to accomodate all guests in comfort. After staying here you'll never want to stay in a hotel on vacation again! In addition to all the other fun stuff our condo is a centrally located for visiting the Kona coffee plantations in nearby Holualoa, traveling to Volcanoes National Park, experiencing boating excursions off the Kailua-Kona pier, shopping at outdoor markets or taking a tour to the top of Mauna Kea and visiting the observatory. And it's only 3 minutes drive to Kahaluu State Park (aptly known as Turtle Beach) where you can snorkel and swim with the turtles and beautiful tropical fish. The park has multiple bathrooms, showers and vendors that sell food and rent snorkel and beach gear. Welcome to our vacation home at the Keauhou Kona Surf & Racquet Club (KKSRC) on the Kona/sunny-side of the Big Island of Hawaii. We first visited Kona in 1999 and found the Surf & Racquet Club in 2003. We were hooked! Our oceanfront location is perfect! It's next to the ocean and a beach and less than ½ mile from Kahalu’u Beach Park and the Keauhou Shopping Center with it’s many stores and restaurants. (Kahalu'u Beach Park is also known as Turtle or Snorkel Beach.) Kahalu’u Beach Park is our favorite snorkeling park in all of Hawaii. The fish and turtles are plentiful and there are bathrooms, parking, reasonably easy access in and out of this protected bay and visitors can rent beach or snorkel gear here, as well, if needed. Our lovely townhouse has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen. Guests can choose to eat indoors at the dining table or there's another table and chairs on our oceanfront lanai. There are two TVs and wifi for indoor entertainment. And, we have installed air-conditioning in both bedrooms to provide extra assurance of cool and comfortable rest in the event guests prefer more than fans and ocean breezes. We also provide beach towels, cooler and there's usually a beach chair or two, an umbrella, and a boogie board for guests to use. The views when you enter this unit are breathtaking AND you get to enjoy those same views throughout the unit. The view from king/oceanfront bedroom upstairs is particularly stunning; you can watch and listen to the surf from the king bed and spot the yellow tang and turtles frolicking in the blue, aquamarine surf. During the late spring and summer months you can even watch the sunsets from the bedroom – they’re straight out for your viewing pleasure. Our décor is very simple and allows guests to easily move in and call the place their own. Most of the artwork is from local artists and reflects the tropical beauty that is found throughout Hawaii. Travertine floors throughout keep feet clean and cool. And, it’s easy to enjoy your own private backyard in this lovely end-unit with grass surrounding three sides. Also, there’s lush greenery between the yard and the ocean so that children are protected by this natural barrier. Still, if you want to go down to the beach it’s a simple two-minute walk to access the path around the neighboring building. There are three sacred heiaus on our 15 + acre tropically landscaped property; several on and around beach and during low tide you can even find petroglyphs on the exposed rocks between tide pools. The property inland from beach and next to us is actually being transitioned into a cultural center park because of the richness of history in this area. In the winter we enjoy additional sightings of the humpback whales and even witnessed an ever-so-rare-to-see birthing in March 2015. Spinner dolphins can be seen along the coastline nearly every day and kayakers, tour boats, and outrigger canoes paddle by pretty routinely. And, whenever you feel more adventuresome it’s easy to get into the car and drive to hundreds of other lovely places on this big beautiful island. There are world-class beaches, boogie boarding and snorkeling, an active volcano, tropical rainforests, Kona coffee plantations, historic and sacred places, and more. We’re still exploring this lovely place almost 20 years after our first visit. The complex has a delightful swimming pool which is suitable for young and old alike. There are 1-3 feet depths at the shallow end of the pool and then lengthwise it goes from 4 to 8 feet so you can easily get in some laps or just playfully float around. If you like to play tennis then this is the place for you. Our recently resurfaced and lighted tennis courts are free for our guests and we even supply a few racquets. There’s a pro available if you want to schedule a lesson or two as well. Enjoy oceanfront views from your living room, kitchen, oceanfront bedroom and upstairs bathroom or while reading a book or enjoying a cool drink on your lanai. They don't allow units to be built this close to the ocean anymore - you can actually see turtles nibbling on the rocks or the yellow tangs in the aquamarine surf from your oceanfront bedroom. We supply everything you need indoors, designated parking 35 feet from front door and this lovely 15+ acre complex boasts a newly refinished pool & deck area that's perfect for all ages AND three lovely and newly resurfaced tennis courts for which our guests can play for free. Also, this unit has independant AC units in each of the bedrooms so that you might sleep more comfortably at night. We haven't listed AC as one of the amenities because AC is limited to the bedrooms only;) We're also less than 1/2 mile from world class snorkeling (Kahalu'u Beach Park; aka Snorkel or Turtle Beach) and less than 1/2 mile from the Keauhou Shopping Center where you'll find groceries, restaurants, medical care, theatre, drug stores and more. It's really perfectly wonderful!! Also, a complete kitchen remodel was just done in September 2016 so everything was brand new (originally built in 1970's)! Still, our rates are set to entice those who might not normally budget for oceanfront. It's lovely and sweet! Comparable refurbished and remodeled units run at least $25-$40 more per night during low season and $50-$75 more per night during Winter months. (See 145210). This unit is clean, oceanfront and still a work in process for ongoing renovations and priced to be a nice deal!
